Carveco Tutorial: Using Inline Help in Toolpath Dialogs

This tutorial will guide you through using the Inline Help feature in Carveco Maker to quickly understand the settings available in toolpath dialogs. Ideal when you’re unsure about specific options—like Final Pass Thickness—and want answers without watching a full video.

🔹 Accessing Inline Help

• Open any toolpath dialog (e.g. Profile Toolpath).
• Click the question mark (?) icon located at the top-right corner of the dialog box.
• This activates Inline Help mode, where detailed descriptions are added beneath most input fields and buttons.

🔹 Understanding Tool Settings

• Once Inline Help is active, scroll through the dialog to see explanations beneath key fields like:
  • Final Pass Thickness – describes how much material is left for a cleaner final pass.
  • Final Pass Allowance – explains the tolerance offset from the original cut path.
• Icons across the interface (including toolpath types) may also show helpful names or descriptions.

🔹 Returning to Normal View

• To exit Inline Help mode, simply click the question mark (?) again.
• This will restore the original compact dialog appearance, removing the extra descriptions.

🔹 When To Use This Feature

• Use it when a setting is unfamiliar or when you want a quick reminder of what it does.
• Especially useful during toolpath creation, where understanding tolerances and passes is critical.
