My Carveco software is hanging on startup. What can I do?

The NahimicOSD.dll file has been identified as a cause of hanging issues in several applications, including Carveco software.

NahimicOSD.dll is part of the Nahimic sound drivers and implements the Nahimic Sound Tracker. This is often found on high-performance laptop and desktop computers with a NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX series graphics card.

To check whether your computer has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX series graphics card which is being utilized by your Carveco software, complete the following steps:

  1. Start your Carveco software.
  2. From the Menu bar, select the Help > Diagnostics menu option. The Diagnostics dialog is displayed.

When your Carveco software is hanging and the information shown in the Diagnostics dialog confirms that a NVIDIA GeForce RTX series graphics card is installed on your computer, complete the following steps:

  1. Shut down your Carveco software.
  2. Using Windows® File Explorer, browse to C:\ProgramData\A-Volute\A-Volute.Nahimic\Modules\Scheduled\Configurator\ on your computer.
If you cannot see the ProgramData folder when using File Explorer in Windows 11, select the View > Show > Hidden Items menu option.
If you cannot see the ProgramData folder when using File Explorer in Windows 10, click the View tab, then select its Hidden items check box.
  3. Right-click the BlackApps.dat file in that location, then select the Open With > Notepad context menu option. Notepad is started with the file opened within it.
  4. Add Carveco.exe to the list in the BlackApps.dat file. The Carveco.exe file can be found in C:\Program Files\Carveco\Exec\ on your computer.
  5. Save the modified BlackApps.dat file.
  6. Start your Carveco software.

Should these steps fail to resolve the hanging issue in your Carveco software, please submit a Support Request to ask for assistance.
