If you’re experiencing issues when trying to open Carveco, such as missing DLL file errors (e.g., VCRUNTIME140.DLL
, MSVCP140.DLL
, or VCOMP140.DLL
) or runtime errors, it’s often due to missing or corrupt system files required by Windows to run the software.
What Causes These Errors?
Carveco, like many Windows programs, relies on the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, which is part of Windows and provides essential files that allow software to function correctly. If these files are missing, outdated, or damaged on your system, Windows may be unable to launch Carveco and similar programs, resulting in error messages.
This issue is not caused by Carveco itself but is something that can happen on any Windows PC, often due to incomplete updates, missing system components, or software conflicts. The good news is that it's usually easy to fix by following the steps below.
1. Check for Windows Updates
Before taking any other steps, make sure your Windows system is fully updated. Microsoft frequently releases updates that fix compatibility issues and missing components.
- Open Settings > Windows Update
- Click Check for updates
- Install any available updates and restart your PC
Once your system is up to date, try launching Carveco again. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
2. Reinstall Carveco (Using a Fresh Download)
A fresh installation of Carveco can resolve many issues, as the required files are included with the software. To avoid problems caused by a corrupt or outdated installer, make sure to download a new copy before reinstalling.
-
Download a fresh copy of the Carveco installer
- The installer can be downloaded from the link in your most recent Carveco order confirmation email.
-
Reinstall Carveco
- Run the newly downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
After reinstalling, try launching Carveco. If errors still appear, move on to the next step.
3. Install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
Carveco relies on the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015-2022. If this is missing or corrupt on your Windows system, reinstalling it should resolve the issue.
Which Version Should You Install?
- Windows 64-bit (x64) users: Install the x64 version.
NB: A 64-bit processor is required to run Carveco, as outlined in our minimum system requirements.
Where to Download the Required Files
To ensure you get the latest version, download the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable directly from Microsoft’s official website:
Download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
- Scroll down to the "Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022" section.
- Windows 64-bit (x64) users: Download and install the x64 version.
- Run the installer(s) and follow the on-screen instructions*.
- Restart your computer and try launching Carveco again.
*NB: If you are shown the 'Modify Setup' dialog (see image below), please choose the Repair option and follow the on-screen instructions.
Still Having Issues?
If you continue experiencing problems after following these steps, please submit a support request with details (and screenshots) of the error message, and our team will be happy to assist you.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve most issues preventing Carveco from launching and get back to creating. 🚀
