Carveco Tutorial: Batch Calculating Toolpaths
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to use the Batch Calculate Toolpaths feature in Carveco Maker Plus. While it's not exciting on its own, when used alongside toolpath templates, it becomes a highly efficient part of your workflow.
🔹 Why Use Batch Calculate?
- Queue multiple toolpaths for calculation in a single click.
- Perfect for large jobs or when importing uncalculated toolpaths.
- Essential when using toolpath templates across multiple models.
🔹 Example Setup
- Create a plaque with text and a profile groove using the V-Bit Carving toolpath.
- Choose Calculate Later instead of calculating immediately.
- Create additional toolpaths (e.g. outer profile cut) and mark them for later calculation too.
- Uncalculated toolpaths will appear red in the toolpath list.
🔹 Using the Batch Calculator
- Open the Toolpaths panel and click the Batch Calculate Toolpaths icon (calculator symbol).
- Review all uncalculated toolpaths (highlighted in red).
- Select the toolpaths you want to calculate and click Start.
- Successful calculations are marked as Done; failed ones will show Failed.
🔹 Simulation & Troubleshooting
- Right-click in the Toolpath List and choose Simulate All Toolpaths.
- If text or detail appears jagged or blocky, check your Tolerance settings.
- Set tolerance back to 0.001 in (the default) for accurate simulation.
✔️ Key Takeaways
- Batch calculation saves time on multi-toolpath jobs and imported toolpath templates.
- Red toolpaths mean not yet calculated.
- Use Calculate Later when planning a complex machining job.
- Check and reset toolpath Tolerance if your simulation looks poor.
