Carveco Tutorial: Colour Simulation
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use Colour Simulation in Carveco Maker Plus to visualise which tools machine which areas of your design. This feature is especially helpful when using multiple tools or toolpaths, giving you clear feedback by simulating each operation in a distinct colour.
🔹 Getting Started
- Ensure your material setup and toolpaths are already defined.
- Each toolpath will have a default colour swatch shown next to it.
🔹 Simulating with Colour
- Right-click a toolpath and select Simulate with Colour.
- This replaces the usual grey preview with a colour-coded simulation.
- Toggle colour simulation using the middle icon on the toolbar.
- To change a toolpath's colour, click the colour swatch next to it, choose a new colour, and click OK.
🔹 Real-Time Colour Simulation
- Use the Simulation Control Bar to run the simulation in real time.
- Toggle colour preview via the paint palette icon at the end of the control bar.
- This allows you to watch the machining process in your specified colours.
🔹 2D View Support
- In the 2D view, colour simulation doesn't require preview rendering.
- Just enable colour simulation and it will automatically show tool coverage on your vectors.
- Make sure to turn off bitmaps for a clearer view.
✔️ Key Takeaways
- Use Simulate with Colour to see individual toolpaths visualised clearly.
- Each toolpath’s colour can be customised for clarity.
- Toggle Colour Simulation on or off from the toolbar at any time.
- Colour simulation can be used in both 3D and 2D views.
- Use the Simulation Control Bar for live previews of machining progress.
