I've upgraded from Carveco Maker to Carveco Maker+, but my software looks the same. Why?

Upgrading from Carveco Maker to Carveco Maker Plus can be confusing at first, especially as the software interface and installer remain the same. This is intentional.

Many of our customers hold multiple Carveco licenses - so rather than automatically overriding an existing license, we leave it to the user to choose which license to activate. This gives our customers flexibility and control, but it also means a manual step is required when upgrading.

Why does the software look identical?

Carveco Maker and Carveco Maker Plus share the same installer and core interface, so there’s no separate download or installation process when you upgrade. The difference between the two versions comes from the license that’s applied to your installation.

Unless the license is updated, the software will continue running as Carveco Maker, even after a Maker Plus subscription has been purchased.

That’s why it may appear as though nothing has changed.

How do I activate Carveco Maker Plus?

To activate the Maker Plus features:

  1. Deactivate your current license in Carveco Maker.
Follow this article: How do I deactivate the Carveco software license on my device?
  2. Restart the software. You’ll be prompted to sign in to your Carveco Account or enter a new license key (for legacy users).
  3. The software will then present your available licenses when reactivating; or allow you to re-enter your new license key and relaunch as Maker Plus.

Do I need to reinstall Carveco?

No. There is no need to reinstall the software to activate Maker Plus. The change is handled entirely through your license - not through a new download or installation.

Still seeing Maker instead of Maker Plus?

Double-check that you've deactivated the previous license. If the old license remains active, it will override the newer Maker Plus license and continue running the standard Maker version.
