Hi mike thankyou for your help. the table leg was just in a video i found i was using it to show that it had the save button in the export section where as in my carveco there was no save button....

Hi Mike thankyou for your input. as you say i need to play and use my imagination. I find the tools in carveco a bit "different" compared to modelling in a 3d cad package but i will get used to it...

Hi just to add i used to use smart engrave to get the neat lines at the back but if i select rough tools then it takes away from these lines i.e the engraving cutter doesn't cover the back surface ...

It looks like it was due to the grouped curves. If I ungroup each single letter, then it seems to work fine.
