Speeds & Feeds

One of the other carving applications I use has integrated speeds & feeds. If I am correct, Carveco Maker does not yet support this feature.

What are people using for their speeds & feeds settings?

  • I apologize, I misspoke, let me rephrase.

One of the other carving applications I use has integrated speeds & feeds, ie if I change a setting (spindle speed) it recalculates the feed rate, etc. If I am correct, Carveco Maker does not yet support this auto-recalculate feature. Carveco's database has speeds and feeds but they are not dynamic.

What are people using to double check their speeds & feeds settings?

  • Vance,

sorry didn't mean to be snarky you can edit the feeds and speeds for the toolpaths in bit selection here's a photo of a quarter inch ball end.

  • Take a look at a toolpath choose a bit size you will see that you can edit your feed and speed rate for any bit you choose then when you run the toolpath it will run at a different speed. Might I ask what other program? The one that carveco uses is quite easy to use it's just not in your face.

Try to edit (change the numbers, just don't forget because the numbers are a safe bet you will not break any bit and it will finish the job) you will see there are changes, but you will need to run the toolpath after you edit the numbers.

Sure hope this will quell any fears you might have getting or using the program. I remember some of my friends when I first got Artcam they were why didn't you get so and so program, I was leery, but sure am glad I stuck with the program, no other program can do what This one can do, sure there are improvements that are desirous but come the end of the day...................There isn't any that can do what this one can, for such a easy program it'll take you over 10 years to learn it all, want to ask how I know??

    Vance,

Was thinking today and wondering if you were talking of using your machines software to change the feeds and speeds.
Is this what you were referring to?
