  • David,

Where are you getting the clipart??

I might ask which product do you have??

All clipart I use (most if not all) I make myself. Once in a while, I'll use something someone else has made.

When I bring it in, it's in the form of .art (something that is proprietary to artcam and carveco) file, and most of the files are saved to the model area under artcam (makes things easy for me).

Now are you trying to bring in some other type of file, say like an .stl, or an .3ds file, or are you trying to bring in a photo??

Could you cover the steps you are using, might help see if we are on the same page.

  • David,

Let me look at a few videos on Maker. My knowledge is very slight on it. I have the full version, so it'll take a bit for me to grasp but here are a few for you to look over:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f-NpoQmnCE&list=PLalFSVzdLCiZKsYkrcHJr1kUYnVgX5LPs

Are you trying to v-groove this heart or are you wanting it to be a full model (raised up), or what? If you are using photos (jpeg. files), I don't know if you can make things raised (but then I don't own that lighter version of the software). This is why I'll have to look at some videos.

Say you might put the jpeg file here in the post so I can have a better understanding.

  • Hi Mike,

You can run your Carveco software as Maker or Maker+ using only desktop shortcut commands. To do so:

    1. Right-click your Carveco desktop shortcut, then select the Properties context menu option. The Carveco Properties dialog is displayed.
    2. In the Shortcut tab's Target box, immediately after the end quotation mark symbol ("), press the Spacebar on your keyboard once and then type /maker or /maker+ depending on what Carveco software variant you want to use. For example, the Target should read: "C:\Program Files\Carveco\Exec\Carveco.exe" /maker
    3. Click Apply.
    4. Click OK. The dialog closes.
    5. Double-click the Carveco desktop shortcut to start the software as your chosen variant.

  • David,

Here is a link to a video I made  https://www.screencast.com/t/8YfwGWPTZp

When you want to draw lines (called vectors) around objects in a photo open "Maker" chose to open then go to where your photo is rt click on your pic, it should open up in "Maker" then chose the size you want, then start to draw your lines (vectors) easy, peasy.

ps if you want a video on that I can do that for you if you want.
