  • Can you elaborate, from what you state above, I think angle plane tool (select the vector and create an angle plane from point a to b)

  • Yeah, I will elaborate. The fade tool makes a certain region of the relief (or the whole relief, if no vector is selected) gradually go down to 0% of the height of the relief, right? So I want a improvement to the fade tool that would do the same, but the user would be able to choose to which percent the relief would gradually be scaled to (a value that could be higher then 100%, in which case there would be a height increase).

Unlike the angled plane tool, it would make details higher as it would scale the actual relief, and not just add a simple angled plane underneath it.

In other words, if you would merge the idea of angle fade relief tool with the idea of scale relief tool, you would get the tool Im talking about.

  • Ok, so all your asking for, is to have the existing fade strength slider to have the ability to go beyond 100%?

  • Basically, yeah. I overcomplicated it, right?

  • Actually I would like to be able to add additional points to fade too as needed. Stop and think what the option to fade in 4 or 6 directions would do for our modelling

  • Really, add to other tools also, like the cookie cutter, the shape editor. How about what I suggested in a post here recently where we could do like in Rhino, modo and I assume others like 3ds max where you can pick an area to contort and the whole model would be given a gentle curvature, but at the same time we could also control these by a vector ......blink blink my eyes go that would be so cool, no other program would have this, wow talk about setting the bar up huh??
