Surfacing Spool board
Im resurfacing my spool board for the first time. Carvco does not have a surfacing tool in their tool database that I can find. So, Im adding a tool. The problem is I don't have all the information required by the program. My question is where does one get the info about their bits to enter into a data base? When I order bits, that info does not come with them. What am I missing?
For this Surfacing tool I entered - Flat engraving for the tool type, for lack of a better choice. But I don't know what to enter for the - half Angle -- it has to be larger than 0. Or what to enter for: Step Down, Spindle Speed, Feed Rate and Plunge Rate?
If some one would help me out here Id appreciate it. Thanks

Susan,
A read for you,

You can down load or you can search for the specific bits to input the info. When you go to the sights they provide what you'll need, here's an example.

Susan,
Did you ever get around to reading and researching what I gave? If you did, was I clear, did it help?
mike
Yes thanks Mike.
I did read and am investigating some more. I appreciate the walk through on how to down load a database in Carveco.
Even in the example you provided the feed and speed for the bit is not provided. Yet this info needs to be added into the data base
On a flat bit like a surfacing bit what would the half angle be? 45% ?
I was thinking you might need an example
Susan.
Were you able to proceed with the spoil board surfacing yet?
