Single line font issue
I seem to be having a sudden problem with text engraving. This text is all included in the .dxf file from my CAD software (TurboCAD 2023). In the drawing, I have been using simplex.shx for text engraving. Until recently, it worked fine. Now, however, when I import my drawings into Carveco Maker, the text that was simplex.shx in the drawing is something else (Arial?) that is not an slf. Has anybody encountered this, and do you know how to fix? Right now, I am replacing the imported text with text generated by the Carveco Maker software, but this is time-consuming.
Also, if anyone knows of information about revising the post-processor I am using, I would appreciate knowing. The revisions I need to make are simple, but I don't know how to get into the database to fix.

All the fonts used, or rather all the fonts you can use in Carveco, are in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder. You can install any font you wish into Windows.
These are two places where you can get them (I think):
I do all my modeling in Carveco (ArtCAM). I do not use any other program, mainly because they add too much time to what I need to get done. I do play with Rhino and Modo 8.1 and a few others mainly for entertainment. I don't know your situation, so I am not passing judgment. I just know what is best for me. Download these and install them, then open Carveco Maker and see if they are there.

Hi Thaddeus B Reynolds,
Fonts in .shx format are not supported in Carveco software. Just as Michael Sherve has already commented on, only the TrueType (.ttf) and OpenType (.otf) fonts which are installed in C:\Windows\Fonts\ on your computer are compatible with Carveco software, and they build the list of fonts which is available to choose from when creating vector text in your Carveco Maker software. Our supported font types are confirmed in the following knowledge base article available from our Help Centre: How can I add a font when creating vector text?
When importing vector artwork into Carveco software, we do not map the fonts which you've used when creating vectors in third-party applications (in this particular case, TurboCAD 2023). Any text that you've saved as part of a DXF file is brought in as a regular vector and cannot be edited using the Text Tool in the same way as you can with vector text created within Carveco Maker using the Text Tool.
When creating vector text in Carveco Maker, provided that the simplex_.ttf file is already installed in C:\Windows\Fonts\ on your computer, you should find that Simplex is available to choose from the Tool Settings: Text Tool panel's Font list.
Post processors in .con format are installed to C:\Program Files\Carveco\postp\ on your computer. If you want to view or edit the contents of a particular post processor (at your own risk), copy the relevant .con file to your computer's desktop, then open the .con file using Notepad or Wordpad. Once you've made your changes, save the file, copy the file, paste it to C:\Program Files\Carveco\postp\ on your computer, and then restart your Carveco Maker software.
Thanks again for your time and consideration.
