Cutting all the material out of a vector

I've created a couple of files in Carveco Maker and cut them with success (mostly). The problem I'm having is that I created some 3/4" width vectors to cut channels for some T-track. I used a 1/4" End Mill to cut them 3/8" deep. After I created them, I converted the bitmap to a vector and used Flood Fill Vector. After creating the toolpath and saving it, I cut the file. The width and depth were correct, but it only cut the outer edges and left the center untouched. I thought if you used Flood Fill Vector, the tool would remove all of the material, but it didn't. I don't even know what to call it so I can search for an answer. How would I accomplish this?

  • Try running the "area clearance toolpath" this will clean the area out inside of the vectors, I don't use the flood fill just use the area clearance, does a good job.

  • Thanks, Mike!

I wasn't sure how to phrase the question to get the answer. That sounds perfect.

  • Hi John Pollman,

To better understand the use of flood filling and how to create a toolpath for machining within selected vector boundaries, please watch each of the following demonstration videos available from our Carveco Training portal:

Thanks for your time and consideration.
