Carving a contour
Hello,
I want to carve a contour around some text. The picture below shows the contour.
I select Create V-bit Carving Toolpath. I limit the depth to 8 mm as the thickness of the material is 18mm.
I select a straight router bit (with a cutting diameter of 3.175 mm).
When I press Calculate Now, I get an error message saying:
"Cannot calculate for the following reasons: "Tool must have angled sides or be a ball nose tool"
Can someone assist me as I am in the learning phase?

What toolpath did you choose?

The reason I asked there are toolpaths other than Relief and Profile.

Ps. you might try area clear, or Inlay, give them a shot

I followed your suggestion and it worked.
I used the Create V-bit Carving Toolpath. I guess it requires a bit with angles.
