Find your public IP address using the Command Prompt

To obtain the public IP address of your computer using the Command Prompt:

1. In the Windows Search bar, type: cmd
2. From the Search results, select the Command Prompt app. The Command Prompt is displayed:
   
   
   
   
3. Copy the following command to the clipboard by highlighting the text and pressing the Ctrl+C keys on your keyboard: nslookup myip.opendns.com resolver1.opendns.com
4. In the Command Prompt, click the C:\Users\<Username> prompt (where <Username> is the user name associated with your Windows user account) and then paste the command from the clipboard by pressing the Ctrl+V keys on your keyboard.
5. Press the Return key on your keyboard. The public IP address of your computer is displayed: 
   
   

Find your public IP address using third-party services

Some services on the Internet show you the public IP address of your computer by opening a webpage in a browser. You can use the following third-party services:

• google.com
• whatsmyip.com
• myexternalip.com
