    I use a 24000 80mm spindle wired directly to the VFD (No belts). Steppers are wired directly into the controller.  I would think pretty stable connections

    To make it even harder my machine uses USB to talk to the controller. If it were a parallel port it would do most of the set up automatically

    Thanks again for the tip. I am using a Chinese machine " Lead CNC Bulk Man 3D" I am not sure what post processor to use . So far I am using   Mach3_4(inch) *.tap. Any suggestions ? Mike
