How do you reset size of model?

How do you change the size of the model after initially creating it? I drew it as 150mm x 381mm but now I want to change the height to 175. Nothing else should change.

Thanks.

  • Hi Andrew Pincombe,

If you want to extend the height (Y) of your open model in Carveco Maker:

    1. Select the Model > Add Border menu option. The Add Border dialog is displayed.
    2. From the Add Border dialog, deselect the Symmetrical check box.
    3. Select either the Top check box or the Bottom check box.
    4. In the box shown to the right of the selected Top or Bottom check box, type the amount by which you want to extend the height of your model area. For example, 25 mm.
    5. Click OK. The height of the model area is adjusted by your specified value.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

  • Thanks, that works.

So I tried entering a negative value thinking it would make model smaller but it gives error. I see by searching online you have to create a box and crop it.

There really should simply be a 'resize model' option.

  • Hi Andrew Pincombe,

So long as you want to adjust both the size and width of your model, you can use the Model > Set Model Size menu option. The Set Model Size dialog's Height and Width boxes do not enable you to adjust the model's height or width independently.

If you want to reduce the size of your model area, you can draw a vector in the workspace equivalent to the required model size, then select the Model > Crop menu option.

You might find the following demonstration video available from our Carveco Training portal useful: Making the Model Smaller

Thanks again for your time and consideration.

  • Would be nice to be able to either scale the model OR resize the canvas. There are work-rounds it seems, but they are not ideal.
