Router bit goes too low when starts cutting (breaking the bits)

I tried a few different designs and always goes too deep, using UGS and saving the files in grlb, I'm new in CNC only lasers and 3d printers before.

  • Hi Luis Barros,

Please confirm whether you're selecting the Grbl (inch) (*.gcode) post processor option or the UGS GRBL (inch) (*.gcode) post processor option from the Save Toolpaths dialog's Machine file format list when saving your calculated toolpaths from Carveco Maker. If you're using Universal Gcode Sender as your controller, you should be choosing the latter option.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

  • Thanks for your answer, saving as UGS did work, but today I was trying to cut a circle with Amana Spiral Plunge bit and started too deep which would break that expensive bit if I didn't stop, is a way for me to specify in the toolpath how deep each pass can go? (cutting hardwood)
