Panning 2D model....and strange scroll wheel behavior

I am new to Carveco Maker.  I have two questions:

1) On the 2D View, how do I pan the model around the screen . Eg: if I have zoomed in on a section, how do I move it to be centered on the screen.

2) There is strange zooming behavior showing on both PC's that I have tried it on.

Each time I scroll the wheel 1 click up to zoom in, and then 1 click down again to get the previous zoom level, the model moves around the screen, moving progressively towards one side. It never returns to where I zoomed from. I have included screenshots showing the progressive movement.

Thanks for any help.

Greg

  • Hi Greg Milwid,

Unfortunately, your supplied screenshot shows a series of thumbnail images from which nothing can be garnered.

You do not typically pan the 2D View, as the majority of people work in the 3D View. Please watch the following demonstration video available from our Carveco Training portal: 3D View Controls

Thanks for your time and consideration.

  • 1) So there is no way to move a 2D model around in the screen? Seriously?

    2) I deliberately showed a series of thumbnails so you could see the progression of the model around the screen with each subsequent mouse roll up and then down again. How would you like me to demonstrate that this happens? You want me to upload 10 full res images?

  • Hi Greg Milwid,

Please try panning the 2D View by dragging the mouse while holding down its right and left mouse buttons.

Unfortunately, the thumbnail images are too small to gather any meaningful information.

If you would like to share a collection of large files, please upload them using the free WeTransfer service and then include the generated link when posting so that we can retrieve them.

If you're attempting to show movement, rather than capturing a sequence of screenshots, please capture and share a short demonstration video. TechSmith Capture is a free application which you might find useful.

Thanks again for your time and consideration.

  • Thanks for the response. The panning response is what I was looking for and works great.

Here are two links to videos of the 'migrating' screen I described.

  • Hi Greg Milwid,

Many thanks for sharing your two demonstration videos, which have been useful.

Our Development team have now implemented some zooming refinements and we intend to include them as part of the Carveco 1.34 software update. While we cannot confirm the exact release date of this update, you should expect it to be available during the month of September; you'll receive a notification message within your Carveco Maker software as soon as its available to you.

Thanks again for your time and consideration.
