Magic wand

Just watched Leighton's video on the Magic Wand.  Can I use the Bitmap to Vector tool to reduce colors without "create vectors" then use the Magic Wand on the remaining colors I selected (preferably just black and white).  Just curious.  Thanks

  • Hi Geoff Otton,

We expect that you're referring to the Magic Wand Tool demonstration video included in our Carveco Fundamentals training course.

You can use the Bitmap > Colour > Reduce Number menu option to reduce the number of colours in an imported image without creating any vectors.

When using the Magic Wand Tool, please ensure the colour around which you want to create your vector boundaries is selected as the Primary Colour; left-click a swatch in the Colour Palette displayed below the view to select its associated colour as the Primary Colour.

Thanks for your time and consideration.
