  • I like that background, looks like light, that's cool. Are you using Photoshop to do that, or how are you doing it, looks good.

  • Barry,

Want you to see I'm playing with this texture you sent, I do like your work Thought you would like to see what it looks like, I'll be cutting it out soon to see how it looks in wood I'll put a photo of it so you can see. I think I'll be playing with it more to try and get that sun ray look

  • Cool Mike, don't forget to play with Z as well, it will make a big difference in the effect. You might want to try this before you do the carving in wood to give the background more punch. Also try stretching sections of the model, that's also a big factor in the ultimate look.

  • Mike S, here is the effect of increasing the Z and stretching. So the first 2 images attached are the model (a model) at 2 MM Z and 49 x 49 mm. Images 3 and 4 are of the same model at 4 MM Z and 49 x 99 mm. I think the last 2 images are what you are looking for in terms of sunlight. Maybe anyway.

  • I did a few things, they came out cool looking, just with the photos would show the work, I stained one pink and then sprayed it with poly but should have use some shellac, would have come out better.

  • Hi Mike, I cannot see the background texture in the picture, may be because of the glare. Out of curiosity what was the Z that you used for the background?
