Graphics card
I am thinking of buying a new laptop and the one I am looking at comes with an Intel® HD 620 Graphics card. Does anyone have any idea if Carvco will work with this card or not. I know it is suggested that we use Nvidia cards but that card is not offered by the company I am looking to buy the system from. The laptop I am currently using has an Intel Graphics 4000 and it runs both AC and Carvco just fine. I am hoping someone has been using the card I am looking at and can provide some guidance.
Thank you,
Barry

I had thought Intel stopped support for this chip, but I guess there was another (so much stuff out there)
Thought you would be interested in the editorial, I myself have found that messing with a low end card doesn't help.
In fact it's rather bothersome, I don't know anything of this integrated graphics, I like the quadro cards, man are they nice, I have an older 2000 card and it beats the tar out of everything I have seen, just saying.
here's a rebuild one https://www.amazon.com/Dell-M4800-Ultrapowerful-Workstation-Refurbished/dp/B07HKBDFQX/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=laptop+with+a+quadro+card&qid=1579677516&sr=8-2
or one that isn't https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Workstation-Ultrabook-1920x1080-Fingerprint/dp/B07DQT33HG/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=laptop%2Bwith%2Ba%2Bquadro%2Bcard&qid=1579677615&sr=8-3&th=1
I'm not into laptops, maybe I should look at them a little more but I just don't want that pc tail so much anymore. Good luck in the decision.

Hi Barry,
The specification for Intel HD Graphics 620 can be found here: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Graphics-620.172256.0.html
Please note that it is integrated graphics rather than a dedicated graphics card.
The system requirements for Carveco software can be found in the following knowledge base article from our Help Centre: What are the system requirements for your software?
When comparing the specification against our system requirements, it should meet them, although it uses shared memory rather than dedicated memory.
Plenty of manufacturers offer an NVIDIA graphics card as part of their laptop specification, so you might want to search beyond the current manufacturer you're considering.
Like I said didn't know squat of the (card) 620 I just read the article (though it had to do with gaming) the statement on that site said it was a low end card, and like I said I have a quadro card and I have been very pleased with it, like you I am working in windows 7 (this pc doesn't have the quadro card) and have been using a gaming card it does ok with rhino, modo, z-brush and some other programs but that quadro card is very sweet, I don't have to wait like I do with this gaming card that has 2 times the video ram that the quadro card has. I am about to purchase another pc with a different card (more ram, faster and more up to date(but I just can't enjoy windows 10 like I do windows 7, I'll get use to it, still).
Hope you enjoy the new laptop.
