Tool Database stored on server

Is there a way to have the tool database default to a location on a server?

I was able to do this in ArtCAM by editing the value of the ToolDatabase key in the registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\ArtCAMManager\ArtCAMFiles

Double click on ToolDatabase, enter the path to the .tbd file in the Value data field.

I tried changing it in the following location but it does not work.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Carveco\1\Files

Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Steve you may need to contact support on this one but you may try this

in the registry go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Carveco\1\Defaults key"

Right-click an empty area of the Registry Editor's right pane then select the New > String Value context menu option. A string value named New Value #1 is created

Rename the string to CarvecoToolDatabaseDirectory then select Modify

Put your tool database server location in the Data Value Box and click OK

and of course move your .tbd files to that location, and don't forget to restart Carveco before testing

    good luck
