Carveco cannot open some Artcam files?
Odd one here, we have used Artcam 2012/2013 for years and Carveco in general will open the files with no issue. But some files it says ' a dongle is required to open this file'.
We can still open it in Artcam but is there a fix/workaround to make the file compatable?

I think I have found the issue - it was probably an Artcam 2012 file - opened & saved in Artcam 2013 and then Carveco can open it ok.
Is there a reason Carveco cannot open Artcam 2012 files?
I think it has something to do with the code from autodesk, artcam 2018 does the same thing, if I am not correct.

If you install the Carveco 1.6 Update, you should be able to open any legacy ArtCAM files (*.art; *.3dp; *.rlf: *.3da) in your Carveco software. The release of the Carveco 1.6 Update was announced here and you can find the release notes here.
Great to see this update, it makes me feel much better since I do not have version 2015 and a large number of my models were created in 2012.
However,
I have found that not all legacy art files can be opened in the Carveco 1.6 update. I think the ones that are failing were created with version 7 and possibly 9 as well. I cannot tell for sure about the version 9 files because when I moved to my current PC which I bought so I could run 2012 and uploaded my old files to it the creation date shows as 2013. Anyone have any experience, positive or negative, with these older files and the new update?
