compatibility question

Hello everyone: I'm a new guy with an old machine. I have a model master 1000 subtractive process and am in question as to whether the current software is compatible with my machine. This 1000 model had a hardware update to accommodate the use of 2009 software back when. My name is Sam Barnett and I am in the midst of choosing to become a full time model maker and no longer the bench jeweler in a store making only the occasional piece. Did I hear you say, be careful what you wish for?

  • Hi Sam, the software is not the issue, its the g-code. This has not changed so you should be OK. I have a MM mill that still has the Foredom motor (the mill is over 10 years old) and it works just fine.

    I hope this helps.

  • Welcome Sam.

As Barry said, you should be ok as the posts have not changed.  Even if you had a post specifically altered, Carveco still uses the same .con format so you can just drop it in the postp folder.
