Single Line Text

I need a single line text in a signature form. There are not any in carvco. I'm engraving a small Christmas tree photo holder.  I've bought a few on etsy but they keep having double lines. What sort of options do I have? Please help me.

  • Hi Robert,

I believe the only solution is to trace the text/signature and redraw it yourself.. Have you tried that? Share a screenshot if you'd like, for better understanding.

  • Did you use the Polyline tool to redraw the signature? If so, you shouldn't get any outlines, or any other lines, than the ones you draw... Maybe you did something different? A screenshot would still be very helpful to understand.

  • Elina,

I think he has Maker, I don't think that has the Polyline tool. He hasn't stated which verity of Carveco he's work in, might help.

I suggested he look on line for a single line font that would fit his desires, though my suggestion only shows up if I sign in (it might not be showing up).

If he were to look at https://www.dafont.com/, they have a few that might work for him.

  • Hey Mike! I was wondering where you are :)  no, your comment doesn't show up.. it's probably 'under review' (forever).. it has happened to me too.

So, ..ok, I didn't know Maker has no Polyline tool. In that case, I agree the solution could be a single-line font. Or maybe, draw the signature on a different software and then import it as DXF into Carveco, that could work as well.

    Elina.

  • I have been rather busy, in the last few month I've had a lot of holiday models to make 2 weeks ago I got an order for 3 lions 3 sheep and 4 different lambs with specific pose's, yesterday I sent a pic to verify what he was wanting (I was close) now I just have to finish one lion and 2 lambs.

You know sometimes I wished that we could change the pose's of some of what we do like they have in some of the 3d programs, but that might cheapen the work and wouldn't lead to the best, but it's still a dream.

I will have to reinstall Maker on my system again to verify what I wish to convey, with what I say is correct.

  • Yes, I know what you mean regarding poses.. I wish there was something similar regarding the perspective, you know, tilting the view in a magical way, haha!

Well, keeping busy is good 👍🏽
