Node Hitbox Size

I've had the need to do a lot of node editing lately, and one thing that is a constant frustration is the difficulty in successfully landing my mouse on the node hitbox (the area of pixels where Carveco registers the mouse as being over the node). Is there a setting somewhere where I can widen the hitbox, or some tip or trick to make it easier to 'land' on the node so it can be selected or grabbed by the mouse?

  • Bayne,

You could try on the menu bare "Edit" go down to just about the bottom to "Options" go down to where it says "Drawing Options" there you can change the "Vector Thickness" and the other "2D view Font Size", change them to a bigger number. OR get a larger monitor Or come in real close. If you have a million nodes, really try to get rid of as many as you can (speeds up milling a bit) plus it makes node editing easier, I spend a good hour or 2 on every model I make, it makes modeling more enjoyable because it gets rid of a lot of noise that deviates my attention.

  • Hi Bayne,

I totally understand your issue.. Unfortunately there is no option to make the nodes bigger. As Mike advised, you can set a few things under 'Options' (in my opinion, the thinner the vectors,  the more visible the nodes will be..).

Regarding the 'landing' on the node, that should work already, as it snaps on the node once you get the cursor close enough...

An additional tip that might help, is to edit your nodes in the 3D View tab, instead of the 2D, as the nodes appear slightly larger (and round).. maybe that makes it easier? Give it a try..
