Won't save out toolpath because it claims Onefinity BB controller doesn't support tool change.

The Onefinity BB controller supports tool changes, but Carveco won't save out the toolpath with two different tools. What gives? Yes, I have the correct machine selected.

  • Hi Chris Pellegrino,

Onefinity Support advised us that it was not possible to complete a tool change when using the Buildbotics controller. Therefore, the Onefinity - BB (inch) (*.ngc) and Onefinity - BB (mm) (*.ngc) post processor options do not support tool changes.

While you can save toolpaths which make use of the same tool or bit together as a single file, you would need to save toolpaths which make use of different tools separately.

If you would like to try either the Onefinity - No Toolchange (inch) (*.ngc) or Onefinity - No Toolchange (mm) (*.ngc) post processor option when saving your calculated toolpaths from your Carveco Maker software and you do not have the post processor options available to select from the Save Toolpaths dialog's Machine file format list when saving your calculated toolpaths, please complete the following steps on your computer:

    1. Shut down Carveco Maker.
    2. Download the Onefinity_no_toolchange_inch.con and Onefinity_no_toolchange_mm.con files to your computer using this temporary link.
    3. Copy the saved Onefinity_no_toolchange_inch.con and Onefinity_no_toolchange_mm.con files to the C:\Program Files\Carveco\postp\ location on your computer.
    4. Restart Carveco Maker.

Thanks once for your time and consideration.
