Self-Intersecting

I have been trying to create a toolpath for my drawing. It keeps giving me the self-Intersecting error. I use the Vector Doctor to find them and I was able to fix a bunch, but some just won't go away.  I am new to Carveco Maker, so I need a little help.

  • Hi Don Lombard,

When we open your supplied Capewinds.art file in Carveco Maker and select all vectors, we can see that there are several issues; red indicates that you have several overlaying duplicate vectors and blue indicates you have a grouped single vector:

The grouped single vector, two open vectors and some of the identified duplicate vectors are contained on a separate vector layer named junk as shown below:

    You can use the:

    • Edit > Select All > Duplicate Vectors menu option to select all duplicates, and then press the Delete key on your keyboard to remove them.
    • Ctrl+U keyboard shortcut to ungroup a single, grouped vector.
    • Delete key on your keyboard to remove unwanted vectors.

We have sent a modified copy of your model file (Capewinds-Fixed.art) by email in Support Request #12078, in which the duplicate vectors have been removed, the single vector has been ungrouped, any open vectors have been closed, and all vectors have been moved onto a single vector layer. You should now be able to use the vector artwork to create a toolpath using a suitably-sized tool.

Thanks for your time and consideration.
