Preview Feature: Increased 8K resolution
In the Carveco 1.38 release, we've added a new preview feature that gives you the ability to use 4x the resolution than you have previously. Once you have enabled this feature, you can create models containing up to 128 million triangles. For a square model, this would be up to 8000 x 8000 pixels in size.
Higher pixel densities give greater accuracy. In the example above, using 8000 x 8000 pixels for a 40mm x 40mm model area means that each pixel is 5 microns wide. With professional engraving lasers approaching 10 microns in diameter, this ensures that the model data exceeds it's cutting ability.
It is recommended that you try out this feature on a higher-end machine with at least: 16GB memory, an Intel® Core™ i7 or AMD® Ryzen™ 7 processor (or higher), and a recent high-powered graphics card such as an NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 3060 Ti (or higher).
