IS CARVECO READY TO WORK WITH 4th AXIS

I have a 4th-axis machine that is the A-axis, and I would like to know if Carveco has upgraded to machine 4th-axis.

I have seen where an update for 1.37 is ready to download. What is the cost of the maintenance plan at the moment?

Thank you.

Gary

  • Hi Gary Smith,

All toolpaths within Carveco are three-axis. While you can create a rotary model in our flagship Carveco product, our toolpaths do not provide for true four-axis machining; the software makes use of a rotary fourth axis to recreate it.

When creating a rotary model, you choose which axis to wrap on; X or Y depending on your indexer directional location. The Rotary Indexer is normally designated the A-axis. When saving your calculated toolpaths, you should find a post processor option specifically intended for this. For example, Rotary (Y Axis->A).

You are correct in stating that Carveco Version: 1.37 Build: 2022-11-14-1714-86c2bd0e is currently our most recent release. Since your maintenance plan has been lapsed for quite some time now, please contact our Sales team directly by email at sales@carveco.com to discuss your software requirements and the renewal of your maintenance plan.

Thanks again for your time and consideration.

  • With regards to setting up a 4th axis chuck not rotatory is there a way that this can be setup in Maker Plus.

Yorahome has a video for setting up the chuck version of the 4th axis but it is using Easel and I can't see anything in the tutorials for Maker or Maker Plus

  • Hi Carey Silk,

At this time, Carveco Maker+ does not include functionality for creating rotary models. You can compare the different Carveco products on our company website: https://carv.eco/comparison

Thanks for your time and consideration.
