  • Hi cncken65,

You haven't specified the manufacturer and model of your CNC machine, and you haven't specified exactly which post processor option you're selecting from the Save Toolpaths dialog's Machine file format list when saving your calculated toolpaths from Carveco Maker. Therefore, please share this information.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

  • Same issue here. I have a Machine Masuter from FoxAlien. It uses Candle to run it. Just need to know what code is best to export the toolpath in.

  • Anybody got an answer on what’s the best code to export for the toolpath so that the FoxAlien machine can understand when using Candle to operate the machine?

  • Hi Mike Kostas,

While we do not yet include a post processor named specifically for FoxAlien CNC Routers, other customers have confirmed that our Grbl (inch) (*.gcode) or Grbl (mm) (*.gcode) post processor options are compatible.

Therefore, we would suggest selecting either the Grbl (inch) (*.gcode) or Grbl (mm) (*.gcode) post processor option (depending on whether you're working in imperial or metric units) from the Save Toolpaths dialog's Machine file format list when saving your calculated toolpaths from Carveco Maker, and then loading the resulting .gcode file into Candle.

Please watch the following demonstration video available from our Carveco Training portal: Saving Your Toolpaths

Thanks for your time and consideration.

  • Mike,

The Grbl (inch) (*.gcode) post processor just worked for me, using Candle to transfer to a FoxAlien 4040. Two points that worked for me:

    1. Use the Candle software on the thumb drive provided by FoxAlien. Don't download directly from the internet. I saw there are differences in the Settings menu (not sure what they mean, but they are different).
    2. Make sure to flip the toggle switch on the FoxAlien control box to PC if you're using Candle.
