Vector Selection

Hi - New to Maker. Is there an easy way to go back to editing vectors once the toolpaths have been created? Seems once the toolpaths are created whenever I want to select a vector to work with it it wants to default to paths editing. If I click around enough something changes that I can finally select the vector and edit it.

TIA

  • Hi Ron,

Form the Project tree, toggle the visibility of your toolpath using the light bulb icon to the right of the toolpath name; this leaves the vectors visible but the toolpath previews hidden.

Please take the time to complete the Carveco Fundamentals training course on our company website: https://carveco.com/support/training/

  • That worked. So as long as the toolpaths are visible that will be the 'active' tool?

  • The visibility of a toolpath preview does not determine which tools can be accessed or not. The availability of tools differs when a toolpath preview is selected rather than when a vector is selected; many tools are context-sensitive.

  • I just succeeded in solving the problem of not being able to select a vector by getting a snow flake or a cross bar with a bulls eye in it. After I toggle the visibility of toolpaths off (icon opposite the Toolpaths item in the Project tree), I can select any vector without frustration.
