"Slot Drill" tool type name change in Tool Database

I would like to request that you change the name of the Tool Database's "Slot Drill" tool type to it's known industry standard name of "End Mill"

So many end users of the previous versions of ArtCAM have found this totally confusing.

Thanks,

Gary

  • Yeah, we used the term "Slot Drill" way back when I was a toolmaker. I agree, no one who has router uses the term "Slot Drill" nowadays.

  • Hi Gary,

    Many thanks for your contribution.

Our Support team will bring your suggestion to the attention of the Development team, and they will investigate what can be done to amend the Slot Drill naming convention currently used in Carveco software's Tool Database.

  • The “Radiused engraving” tools seem to be more commonly called “Tapered ball nose” as well. Don’t know if this is a UK/US terminology issue.
