Importing into Carveco

I may be missing something but is there a way to import by layers from illustrator to carveco. I have already broken out the desing into layers and want to import directly by layer.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Bill,

In what format did you export the separate layers from Illustrator? If they're in DXF format, you can simply select them all and drag&drop into Carveco's modelling space. They will be imported into separate layers! Not quite sure if that works in other formats as well... it's very possible. Give it a try.

    Hope that helped!

  • Thanks I will give that a go...... been trying svg, eps , etc , in another app the svg does come in as layers so was hoping it was that easy in Carveco.

So if I understand and pls correct me, export as DXF and should import as layers in Carveco.

    Thanks again Elina
