'Add Border' to model yields different sized model

When using the 'Add Border' feature, the resulting model is not the size as specified in the popup. For example, if I begin with a model that is 4.0 x 8.0 in, and add 0.25in to the Top of the model, the resulting model is 4.24894in x 8.0in. Similarly, when adding 0.8125 to the Top and 0.0625 to the Bottom, the resulting Model is 4.87255 in x 8.0 in (instead of 4.875 x 8.0). Am I missing something?

  • Hi Bayne,

Please capture and share screenshots of your results in Carveco Maker rather than attempting to describe them, as there is less room for misinterpretation of them. If you're not familiar with capturing screenshots, please review the following Microsoft support article: Use Snipping Tool to capture screenshots

By "popup", please confirm whether you're referring to the Add Border dialog.

If you haven't done so already, please watch the following demonstration video available from our Carveco Training portal: Add a Border to Make a Model Larger

Thanks for your time and consideration.
