Machining a step model
Hi,
I am new to Carveco Maker and need some advice. I have imported a step model and want to add text and start with the tool paths. The model doesn't seem to react with anything I trying to do. can you help. I can follow along with a project created in the software. But not not one you import in.
Thanks
Steve Lynn

Hi Steve Lynn,
Since you're working in Carveco Maker (which is our entry-level product), there are certain limitations as to what can be achieved when comparing against either Carveco Maker+ or our flagship Carveco product.
The following video available from our Carveco Training portal demonstrates the process of importing a 3D model file and pasting it into the relief within your open model: Importing 3D Models
After pasting your imported 3D model file into the relief within your open model, you would create a Machine Relief toolpath for the purposes of machining it; please watch the following demonstration video available from our Carveco Training portal: Machining Reliefs
While you can create a toolpath based on vector text in any Carveco product (for example, V-Bit Carving), it is the Transform Toolpaths tool available within Carveco Maker+ and our flagship Carveco product which enables you to impose that toolpath onto the relief surface; please watch the following demonstration video available from our Carveco Training portal: Transforming & Projecting Toolpaths. Based on the information you've provided, this appears to be what you're hoping to do.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
