Adobe Illustrator .ai file into Carveco Maker

My son designs in Adobe Illustrator and he can send me files from it (.ai). How can I use them in Carveco Maker? Can I import them straight?

  • Hi Joe Loyzaga,

You can import vector artwork saved from Adobe Illustrator in .ai format into an open model within Carveco Maker. Please watch the following demonstration video available from our Carveco Training portal: Importing Vectors

Thanks for your time and consideration.

  • It does not show how to do a file in .ai format. and the drop down import/open options don't list it.

  • Hi Joe Loyzaga,

When working in an open model within Carveco Maker, selecting the Vector > Import menu option displays the Vector Import dialog. If you click the list above the Vector Import dialog's Open and Cancel buttons, you'll clearly see both the All Supported Files (*.ai; *.eps; *.pdf; *.svg; *.dxf; *.dwg; *.pic; *.dgk) and Postscript/PDF (*.ai; *.eps; *.pdf) options which confirm that you can import .ai files into your model.

Thanks again for your time and consideration.
