A system error occurred [0x80030070]
Context:
Product::save_model()
Product::save_product_data()

This error usually means Windows is unable to save your file due to insufficient disk space or memory. It can also occur if the file is being saved to a restricted or non-local location (such as a network drive or cloud-synced folder).

Why this happens

Error 0x80030070 is a Windows-level error that indicates insufficient disk space. This can occur even if your main drive isn’t completely full. Common causes include:

  • Not enough free space on your hard drive or temporary storage.
  • The file being too large for the available free space.
  • Saving to a cloud or network location with restricted access (for example, OneDrive, Dropbox, or a mapped drive).

Steps to fix the issue

1. Check available disk space

  • Open File ExplorerThis PC.
  • Check the drive where you’re saving your file (usually the C: drive).
  • Make sure you have at least 10–15 GB of free space available.
  • If space is low, delete or move large files (for example, videos, downloads, or temporary files) to free up room.

2. Save locally, not to a cloud or network drive

  • Save your Carveco project directly to a local folder such as your Desktop or Documents.
  • Avoid saving directly to OneDrive, Dropbox, or shared network locations, as these can cause write errors.

3. Simplify your save location

  • Shorten the file path if it’s very long, for example: C:\Carveco\Projects\MyDesign.art
  • Avoid unusual characters or overly long folder names in your file path.

4. Restart your PC

Restarting your PC clears temporary files and memory, which can help if Windows is running low on system resources.

Helpful tip

If your project includes large 3D reliefs, toolpaths, or imported models, saving may require significant memory and temporary storage. Closing other applications before saving can help free up resources and prevent this error.

If the issue persists

If you still see the same message after following these steps, please contact Carveco Support with the following details:

  • The type of file you were saving (for example, a 3D relief or toolpath project).
  • The approximate file size.
  • The stage at which the error occurred (for example, when calculating toolpaths or after editing a relief).

Providing this information will help our team investigate further and identify whether the problem is storage-related or something else.
