.STL & .SVG files to import not allowed?

Still new to this software and machine.

I see that I can purchase files on ETSY and for the most part they are all  STL &SVG files.

I try to import but it is not allowed or available.

Is Carveco Maker not compatible with these files.

I have loaded svg files with Lightburn for my laser cnc machine no problem but no with carveco.

Maybe a different site for compatible files suggested?

  • Hi Alex,

Provided you're currently working in Carveco Maker Version: 1.17 Build: 2020-07-27-0736-50338108 or later, which you can confirm by selecting the Help > About Carveco menu option in your software, you can import an SVG file into an open model using the Vector > Import menu option and import an STL file into an open model using Relief > Import > Import 3D Model menu option.

If you have not done so already, please complete the Carveco Fundamentals training course available on our company website.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

  • Hi Marlin Adams,

An SVG file contains vector artwork. Therefore, you must select the Vector > Import menu option in your open model, and then select the SVG file you that want to import.

Thanks for your time and consideration.
