Coincident Points

When working with vectors, Vector Doctor indicates coincident points...  But how to I get rid of them, other than manually going in and editing each curve?  Is it possible to just join the points automatically?  "Fix Problems" is greyed out, so I can't use that...  Thanks!

  • Each one is green, every one that I ever saw, and the only way to fix has been to hit the "D" delete the point after highlighting them, You could highlight many by using the shift button then hitting the "D", worth a try.

  • Hi Mike, thanks for the help.  Sometimes I can select them and then delete with the 'D' button, but sometimes it won't let me select them so I have to drag one of them away from the other first.  Then I can select and delete.  It seems to work more often in the 2D view, but I can't zoom in as far as in the 3D view.  Seems like this would be so easy to just merge the overlapping points together automatically...

  • My windows 7 has the same problem, my video card isn't up to it, but it has chess and, sometimes I need the distraction for about 10 min. You might see if support can help with it. I do all my designs in the 2d and only go to the 3d after I am getting close to what I want (old school) for an old man)

You might see if your video card has the latest drivers (don't know what you have) you also might see if you need to do some de frag maybe do a scan-disk also delete the cookies and the other junk windows like to collect (it appears to me at times that all that crap slows the computer down).

  • I am having the same problem. I have some simple text using "New Times Roman" and all of my "G" letters and "8" have "coincident point" errors and will not let me make a toolpath. I have watched all of the videos and a few more on YouTube and still can't make this issue go away. Any help is most appreciated!

  • I zoom in, click on it, and hit the D key.  But after I click on it I think I kinda have to hover over it just right when I hit the D key or else it doesn't work.  Frustrating and annoying, but I haven't found any easier way.  I'm sure there's some secret logic behind it that I just don't get.

Just do it over and over and hope it works!  lol

  • Hi Dave Zimbrich,

If you haven't done so already, please watch each of the following demonstration videos available from the Carveco Training portal:

Please use the free WeTransfer service to upload your saved Carveco Model file (*.art) and then post the generated download link when replying in this topic. That way, the community can retrieve your Carveco Model file (*.art), then inspect your vector artwork and toolpath settings.

Thanks for your time and consideration.
