Toolpath from STL

I'm attempting to set up my first 2-sided carve of a box and lid from an STL file in Carveco Maker. The top of the lid is straightforward as a relief carve, but I'm not sure how to set up the toolpaths for the underside of the lid. If I had SVG or vectors, then it would be a simple pocket cut, but I only have an STL. Image below to show the 3D View of the model:

  • You need at least 2 index points so when you flip it to cut the under side it doesn't move very much,  maker, I think you can draw circles right? (I'm not sure) draw vectors around the first model, get it dead on, you now have one side done, now start another model with the same vector (copy from the top then paste it on the new model, I don't have any idea of what you want the back side to look like but it has to follow the outside vector you brought in from the top side. Top pic. is from the top the bottom one is for the under side, just make sure your material is thick enough to do this, this is really kind of easy once you have an understanding. Just make sure you use at least 2 index points I used 4.
